What my daily routine as a budding digital entrepreneur looks like

Using the Nozbe app (affiliate link), I’d write down my three most important tasks (MITs) for the whole week. I do this every Sunday night and make adjustments if necessary.

So every day, I only need to focus on three items on my to-do list. The items I list down on Nozbe are the critical tasks that contribute most to income. I see to it that I schedule them with very short and clear deadlines.

Ticking off my MITs gives me a sense of accomplishment for the day. Of course, these aren’t the only items I do.

One of the habits that form part of my daily routine as a digital entrepreneur is writing my interstitial journal. I automate the process by using the apps IFTTT and Evernote (affiliate link). Every 8:45 a.m. daily, my IFTTT triggers the applet that I had set up and sends the interstitial journal template directly into my Evernote account.

Journaling is a way of trapping anxious thoughts on paper. It somehow cages the monkey mind as well. And going back to your journal entries after some time gives you a nostalgic and cathartic effect.

When it comes to running my business, I devised my own operating system called The FoDeCo Method. Fo stands for Follow Up; De stands for Delegate; and Co stands for Collaborate. I started using this strategy when I was granted a remote working arrangement by my former employer. Entrepreneurs and employees alike can maximize the use of this method.

For employees, start your workday by following up on the tasks you’ve delegated to your workmates the other day. Next is to delegate the tasks you think others could do better than you. And lastly, collaborate with the projects you’re working on with the rest of your teammates at your company. Wash, rinse, repeat.

For me as a budding digital entrepreneur, I usually start my workday by following up on my ongoing transactions with clients and virtual assistants (VAs). Next, I delegate tasks to my VAs through email. Last but not least, I collaborate with potential business partners. Wash, rinse, repeat.

As an entrepreneur or employee who has a daily routine that allows you to trap your thoughts on paper, using apps to automate recurring tasks and lighten up workload, and having a reliable work system makes your career journey more enjoyable.
